What Ever Happened to Adele?

Adele took the world by storm in 2011 when she released her sophomore album “21.” Songs like “Rolling in the Deep,” “Someone Like You,” and “Set Fire to the Rain” rocketed to the top of the charts in the U.S. and the U.K. But where is she now?

After the success of her song “Skyfall,” which was curated for the James Bond film, Adele fell silent.

On April 3, 2012, Adele announced her next album would likely be two years away despite her reported collaboration with Wiz Khalifa – the song did not make the final cut of his fifth studio album.

“I have to take time and live a little bit. There were a good two years between my first and second albums, so it’ll be the same this time,” Adele stated about her break from music.

The break came soon after Adele announced that she and her husband Simon Konecki would be expecting their first child together in June 2012.

After a rapid ascent into the eye of the public, Adele has earned the break. At the 2012 Grammy Awards, Adele won in all six categories she was nominated in. Overall, Adele has won nine Grammy Awards, an Academy Award and a Golden Globe among others. In addition to these honors, Adele is the only artist or band in the last decade in the U.S. to earn an RIAA Diamond certification for a one disc album in less than two years.

Adele’s two-year hiatus from the music world was announce in 2012. It’s now 2014. Where is Adele? I think we should all hunker down and prepare ourselves for another storm of Adele in the next few months. It’s long overdue.

Much Love,

Nicole

MAJOR UPDATE:

07/05/15

Well, the wait is almost finally over! Adele’s follow up album to “21,” “25” is currently set to release in September!

Reports surfaced last week that Adele was planning to release “25” Beyonce style and release her album as a surprise late last year.

While I knew another album was coming, I expected it to come out last year. Despite the lack of concrete evidence, a few sources have contacted various news magazines with information about “25.”

Another update will be posted with more news if and when the new album is officially announced.
